Staring at Nothing Portrait- original watercolor portrait painting by Gretchen Kelly

$75.00

10x13" original watercolor +graphite nude painting on light green paper

This Portrait is painted during a live model session where I am painting the nude figure. I paint nudes every week at a live model session at a local studio where Artists come to work out their paints, graphite sticks, pastels, charcoal and whatever medium suits their fancy. Most of my figurative work is done at quick sessions no longer than 25 minutes. I try to do a portrait before the pose is over and here you see the results. I paint swiftly and try to capture nuances both in facial features and the way the paint reacts on the paper.

Note: marks, smudges, drips, finger prints are a part of the process and inherent to the nature of this kind of work. I don't consider these damages in any way and they enhance the originality and mark the moment in time of the making of the Art.

Additional

Please note that inherent in the nature of my work, splashes, fingerprints, blobs and paint drops may appear. This is considered part of the work, as my work is done at live model sessions and I am working quickly. These markings on the work give character and show the moment in time when the Art was made. I leave these marks for this reason and consider them important to the work.

I am grateful for your patronage and hope that you enjoy my Art.
