This ONE original sketch is from a 1 minute pose, which is the warm-up exercise for longer poses. In a series of 10 poses, usually done at the beginning of a 3 hour session with a model, I quickly sketch + paint in multi-media of watercolor, pastel, gouache + graphite. I like to paint the female figure in quick poses to capture the gesture and the feeling of the beauty that I see. I use swift colorful strokes and finish off with defining marks in graphite and pastel. This is painted on a white paper.
NOTE: inherent in the nature of this type of work there may be some finger prints, splashes + marks that are considered part of the essence of the Artwork by the Artist. These are not imperfections. These are markings of the minute in time of each particular sketch and add to the character of this genre of Art.

Please note that inherent in the nature of my work, splashes, fingerprints, blobs and paint drops may appear. This is considered part of the work, as my work is done at live model sessions and I am working quickly. These markings on the work give character and show the moment in time when the Art was made. I leave these marks for this reason and consider them important to the work.
